Katy Schwab — Miss Kitsap Fair & Stampede for 2008

Miss Kitsap Fair & Stampede 2008, Katy Schwab is nineteen years old.  A graduate of Klahowya Secondary School, she lives in Bremerton with her father & mother, Michael and Pamela Schwab, a sister and two brothers.
Katy's passion for horses began at an early age, taking lessons at the age of ten, learning the basics of horsemanship.  A six year 4-H participant, she spent her final year as 4-H secretary.  She's also been a teen leader, helping junior members with public presentations, record books, and general horse knowledge.
Last fall Katy purchased a six-year-old breeding stock paint mare, and has since been practicing barrel patterns with plans to compete next year. Katy has also recently joined the Thunderbird Cowgirls drill team, representing Corey's Day on the Farm for Special Needs Children and the
Northwest Burn Foundation.

When not riding, she enjoys hunting, camping, and taking her dog to the park.
In the fall Katy plans to attend Olympic College, working towards an Associate degree in business management.  Her future plan is to pursue a business of her own, a boarding, training and breeding facility.
